The Corona neighborhood of Queens is home to a staggering
diversity of peoples, old and young, new and long-established, having a range
of economic differences, etc. The Queens Museum of Art is a major cultural venue and alternative to
Manhattan's mega-museums. It is the
museum's goal to go beyond traditional museum practice and provide its
neighbors with additional resources to help level the playing field and to
provide guidance in assuring that the great Corona diversity serves as a boon
to community planning and becomes a celebrated aspect of its identity.
